Amazon Announces 2026 FBA Fees

Amazon Announces 2026 FBA Fees

Amazon has announced updates to its US Referral and Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) fees, effective January 15, 2026. This marks the first adjustment since 2024, and Amazon indicated the increase is to cover significant investments in fulfillment capabilities, automation, and faster delivery services.

In 2026, FBA fees will increase by an average of $0.08 per unit sold, or less than 0.5% of an average item’s selling price.

Timeline

  • Effective date: January 15, 2026
  • Notice period: Sellers have at least 90 days from the October 15, 2025 announcement to evaluate impacts and adjust operations.
  • Transition: Current fee rates remain in place until the effective date

Why the change?

Amazon outlines what these fees will fund, including:

  • Improved forecasting and inventory placement
  • Automation that drives faster delivery times
  • Reduction in defects that cause missing and damaged inventory
  • Faster removals processing

Amazon has reminded Sellers they can minimize fees by:

  • Updating product packaging
  • Selecting lower-cost inbound shipping options
  • Maintaining healthy inventory levels
